SHOULD I CARRY PET INSURANCE?
"Yes! you should carry pet insurance." Just like with children "thing happen". Our Bichon at the ripe old age of 13, tore an ACL.. We were lucky and avoided surgery with water therapy, and complete confinement for a couple months. However, many dog owners are not so lucky. Statistics shows ACL surgeries are listed in the top 5 problems that owners can experience on any dog of any age. Bladder stones are also a common ailment which can entail an expensive surgery
And then there is that pesky puppy who just eats anything. We heard of a puppy who swallowed the squeaker out of his toy, thus needing to undergo emergency surgery.
So, where do I find the best policy? There are so many out there, how can I know what is the right policy for me?
That answer is best found in a discussion with your vet as well as by reading the fine print on the policy offered. Just like every insurance, the coverage and cost can vary greatly, our vet, Annie's Animal Clinic, is now part of the Banfield group. Other vets honor Trupanion Insurance. Your vet will direct you to the plan they prefer.
